A Network Analyzer is an instrument used to analyze the properties of electrical networks, associated with the reflection and transmission of electrical signals. An analog spectrum analyzer uses either a variable bandpass filter whose mid-frequency is tuned through a range of frequencies to be measured. A digital spectrum analyzer computes the Fast Fourier transform (FFT), a mathematical process that transforms a waveform into the components of its frequency spectrum. Network/Spectrum Analyzers >10GHz become very mechanical and complex by nature. There are also Microwave Transitition Analyzers (MTA) and Large Signal Network Analyzers (LSNA).
